Onboarding

The first scheduled post is the real signup

Postiz must serve two beginnings: a user deploying software and a user entering the hosted product. Their setup work differs, but their emotional goal is identical—prove that publishing through this system is dependable.

Fig.A strong onboarding sequence makes the path to a scheduled post visible before asking the user to configure the whole workspace.

The activation path

1. Choose the operating model

Clarify hosted versus self-hosted in terms of responsibility, not ideology. Users should understand which work they are accepting in exchange for control.

2. Connect one destination

Request the minimum permission set with plain-language explanations. Avoid asking users to assemble their complete channel portfolio before value appears.

3. Compose with constraints visible

Show the selected network’s format, validation rules, and preview close to the editor. Reliability begins by preventing invalid work.

4. Schedule and confirm

The success state should communicate what will happen, where it will happen, and when. A quiet audit trail creates confidence.

5. Expand the workflow

Only after first value: invite a teammate, connect another network, save a template, or add automation.

Metrics worth owning

  • Time from account creation to first connected channel.
  • Time from connected channel to first scheduled post.
  • Successful first publish rate.
  • Percentage of activated workspaces adding a second channel.
  • Seven-day return rate after a successful publish.
